Gym Field to expand

Bermuda Football Association has been granted a lease for extra land at Gym Field in Devonshire.MPs approved the 50-year lease for 0.68 acres — in addition to an existing 1.46 acres — at the House of Assembly in the early hours of Saturday morning.Works and Engineering Minister Dennis Lister said FIFA, the world governing body of football, was providing $400,000 for the field on Gymnasium Road to be developed as a national training centre.

MPs approved the 50-year lease for 0.68 acres — in addition to an existing 1.46 acres — at the House of Assembly in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Works and Engineering Minister Dennis Lister said FIFA, the world governing body of football, was providing $400,000 for the field on Gymnasium Road to be developed as a national training centre.
He said CedarBridge students and youth and women's teams would also have access to the facility.
