Impaired driver taken off road

A Sandys motorist has been banned from the road for a year for impaired driving.Police were called to an accident at the junction of Crow Lane and Corkscrew Hill at about 6 p.m. on October 26.Crown counsel Nicole Smith said officers saw John Crockwell sitting on a wall near the scene of a two-car damage only collision.

Crown counsel Nicole Smith said officers saw John Crockwell sitting on a wall near the scene of a two-car damage only collision.
When asked if he was the driver, Police suspected the defendant had been drinking. Crockwell, 43, of Cooks Hill Lane, told Police: "I had a few earlier."
He was fined $1,000 when he appeared in Magistrates' Court.
He was fined a further $1,000 for driving without insurance.
