A Bermuda jazz band will take part in the 25th annual Havana International Jazz Festival next February.

All jazz musicians and band leaders are invited to a meeting on Thursday, May 1, at the Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, where they will be told how they can win the chance to represent Bermuda.

It comes after Culture Minister Dale Butler signed a memo of understanding with the Cuban Ministry of Culture in 2004.

Mr. Butler said numerous Bermudians have visited Cuba, where they have improved dance, musical and language skills and have learned about Cuban culture.
