Kim Swan's driving GP3 already!

UBP candidate Kim Swan has outfitted his bike with "GP3" and an election promo photo of himself.

A new GP3 has been driving up and down the roads in the run-up to the election — but this one isn't a plush, dark blue Government car.

Kim Swan, of the United Bermuda Party, has taken to the streets on a single-seater rental bike adorned with a homemade GP3 sticker on the front and a cardboard GP3 on the rear basket.

While injecting a bit of light relief to the election campaigning, Mr. Swan is also highlighting Government's spending on travel and transport — including Government's fleet of personal use vehicles which start with GP1 for the Premier with increasingly higher registration number plates on the cars of other Ministers and Government officials.

Taking a leaf from the book of a number of former premiers who would ride to work on their Mobylette, Mr. Swan decided to hop on his own bike to make a point.

Mr. Swan said there was a need for fiscal discipline in Government and claimed that had not been seen in the past nine years under the PLP with $41 million spent on travel expenses.
