Bermuda National Trust's Annual Palm Sunday Walk gets underway this weekend.

This walk starts and finishes at Ducks Puddle Park on Coney Island Road and begins at 2 p.m. tomorrow. It will take a route through Hamilton Parish.

"Every year we map a new route and this year walkers will see some of the Island's most spectacular panoramic views, hidden bays and historical landmarks," explained Dorcas Roberts, Bermuda National Trust director of preservation.

In an effort to reduce the amount of trash produced by this thirsty event, organisers are asking all participants to try to bring their own re-usable bottle to refill along the way.

"This will reduce the amount of trash produced and the unsightly overflow of bins," explained Mrs. Roberts.

"We would also encourage fellow walkers to carpool and/or use public transportation to reduce congestion and parking issues."

This wonderful free community event attracts all ages from all walks of life, she added.

"It is a great time to dust off those walking sneakers and enjoy the wonderful outdoors with exercise and healthy camaraderie."

This year marks the first time the Bermuda National Trust has invited Palm Sunday walkers to "Walk the Walk" to raise money for the Trust.

"Participants can enjoy Hamilton Parish's special places of interest and beauty and at the same time help to save them.

"Every penny you donate will go toward projects that benefit Bermuda's natural and cultural heritage."
