Mr. Burgess, who holds the Hamilton East seat, has been given the Ministry of Works and Engineering, which was previously held by Dennis Lister. He sparked controversy when he alleged Mr. Dennis received stolen goods in reference to a leaked police file about allegations of corruption at the Bermuda Housing Corporation. During the campaigning he derided the UBP's platform, which included giving residency to many long-term Bermudian residents, claiming it could result in up to 8,000 non-Bermudians getting Bermuda status. His tenure of the Immigration portfolio also welcomed legislation that may make it more difficult for non-Bermudian spouses to own a home.Minister of Education Randy Horton

His tenure of the Immigration portfolio also welcomed legislation that may make it more difficult for non-Bermudian spouses to own a home.

Minister of Education Randy Horton

The former PE and maths teacher and principal, will retain the Ministry of Education, which he inherited in November, 2006 from Neletha Butterfield. He withstood controversy in his branch to stand in Southampton West, where he defeated Charlie Swan on Tuesday night.Mr. Horton's time in office has not been any easier – the mold crisis in CedarBridge, which erupted within days of his appointment, and dismal high school graduation rates made for a diffiult first year. But he commissioned the Hopkins report earlier this year – a hard-hitting review of public schools, which pulled few punches in describing what was wrong with education and urged a "reprofessionalisation"of education. The recommendations in that document are now in the process of being put in place.

Minister of Culture and Social Rehabilitation Dale Butler

An historian, former school principeducator and orator, Mr. Butler is one of Bermuda's most prolific writers and publishers and may have the widest appeal of any PLPMP, having twice won the marginal seat of Warwick North East against two strong UBP candidates. After languishing on the back benches under Dame Jennifer Smith, he relished the Youth and Community portfolio under Alex Scott before being moved to the newly created Ministry of Social Rehabilitation when Dr. Brown took the leadership last year.He is one of the minds behind the success of the Mirrors programme designed to help troubled youth get on a track towards success.

Minister of Health Nelson Bascome

Mr. Bascome has represented Pembroke East in the House of Assembly since 1989. He was responsible for the Ministry of Health and Family Services from November 1998 to July, 2003 and again from October, 2006 to February, 2007. Mr. Bascome stepped down as Health Minister to fight court cases, telling the media: "I simply cannot allow the success of this Government's programme to be clouded by a personal matter." Ten months ago, Dr. Brown said Mr. Bascome's move allowed Government "to remain focused on the task at hand which is to do the best we can for the people of Bermuda".A corruption charge was dismissed before going to a jury but he still faces theft charges. He is the president of Counseling Consultants and assistant director of Focus Counseling Service.

Minister of Environment & Sports El James

The former Cup Match and Bermuda cricket star was a teacher at Bermuda Institute and Elliott Primary before cecoming the manager of the Vocation Education Programme for the prison system. A former president of the Bermuda Cricket Board and Warwick Workman's Club, he has has served as chairman of the Consolidated Board of Government Golf Courses and the Public Vehicle Licensing Board. He was elected to the House of Assembly in 1998 but stepped down in 2003. He returned to politics to run in Warwick North Central where PLP incumbent George Scott was considerwed to be strugglign against the UBP's Wayne Scott and took the seat by more than 100 votes.

Minister of Labour, Home Affairs and Housing Sen. David Burch

With the possible exception of the Premier, Sen. Burch will have to be the hardest working man in Cabinet as he adds Labour and Immigration to his already weighty Public Safety and Housing portfolio. He is also Government Leader in the Senate. The Colonel" – memorably described by Julian Hall as a public relations trainwreck – who did not run for office this year after two failed House of Assembly bids, was Commanding Office of the Bermuda Regiment. He is now tasked with completing the Government's housing programme, as well as juggling the complexities of labour relations and immigration – and being the point man for the Government on crime. Even for "the man who gets things done", that's a weighty task, and some of the 14 elected MPs populating the Government back bench may be envious that an appointed official is wielding so much power.

Minister of Energy, Telecommunications and eCommerce Terry Lister

There aren't many Cabinet posts Mr. Lister hasn't held since being elected to the House of Assembly in 1998. He has been the Minister of Development, Opportunity and Government Services, Minister of Labour, Home Affairs and Public Safety, Minister of Works & Engineering and Minister of Education before resigning from Cabinet for personal reasons. During Minister Lister's tenure, he oversaw the passage of the CURE Amendment Act which requires employers of ten or more employees to report the racial composition of their workforce and to include the employment level, the income range, and the benefits given.

Attorney General Kim Wilson

Minister of Finance and Economic Development Paula Cox.

Widely seen as the most likely successor to Dr. Ewart Brown and the daughter of PLP stalwart and Finance Minister th eklate Eugene Cox, Ms Cox has been Finance Minister since her father's death in 2006.

Ms Cox entered the House of Assembly as Mp for the old Devonshire North in 1996 in a by-election forced by the death of PLPLeader Frederick Wade.

Two years later, she was one of the 26 PLP MPs who swept to power for the first time in the party's history and was given the key portfokio of Labour, Home Affairs and Public Safety. She held the Education portfolio and was Atorney General before becoming Finance Minister. She became Deputy Premier when Dr. Brown unseated Alex Scott as Premier.

A lawyer, Ms Cox is currently Corporate Counsel at ACE Ltd.

Premier and Minister of Tourism and Transport Dr. Ewart Brown

Dr. Brown first won his seat in 1993 and when the PLP swept to power in 1998, he was appointed Minister of Transport. After the General Election in July 2003, he was returned to Government as the Minister of Transport and was also appointed the Deputy Premier.
