A 15-year-old who was hurt in a bike accident on Wednesday afternoon was in a stable condition in intensive care last night after surgery. The boy suffered leg injuries in a smash involving a truck at the junction of Dundonald Street and Cedar Avenue.

The rider, a 17-year-old from Southampton, sustained injuries to his head and left leg, but was released from hospital the same day.

The pair were tended to at the scene by passing schoolgirls trained in first aid.

The driver of the truck, a 39-year-old St. George’s man, was not injured in the collision.
