Police have named the 35-year-old man found dead at the Mid-Atlantic Wellness Institute as Shandal Richardson from Southampton.

A spokesman for Bermuda Police Service said yesterday that foul play had still not been ruled out after Mr. Richardson was found in a non-responsive state at about 2.55 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

He was pronounced dead at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital just after 3 a.m. on Wednesday and a post-mortem is due to be carried out today to establish the cause of death.

The Coroner has been informed and an inquest in public will have to take place under the law as Mr. Richardson was a patient at a mental health facility. It is not known yet when the hearing will be held.

Police said inquiries into the incident were ongoing.
