Motorists should avoid the Palmetto Road roundabout this weekend due to roadworks.

Government is advising the public of a lane closure between Dock Hill and Frog Lane, Devonshire, as Island Construction finishes asphalt works to the road surface above a new trench.

The work is being carried out from 7 a.m. today until 4 p.m. on Monday.

A Government spokesman said: "Traffic lights will provide single-file traffic flow and motorists are advised to avoid the roundabout and seek alternative routes into and out of the area."
