Friends of Pauulu Kamarakafego (Roosevelt Brown) are hopeful he could be on the mend.

Dr. Kamarakafego, who led the fight for universal adult suffrage and is now the Progressive Labour Party's political education officer, has been getting treatment at the Lahey Clinic for a serious illness.

His friend Lionel Pearman said: "I talking to him on Saturday. He was doing OK."
