Reid Street closure over the weekend
Reid Street will be closed over part of the weekend to through traffic in order for construction to take place.
The Corporation of Hamilton would like to advise the public that in order for the new forcemain to cross the Reid Street/Court Street junction, Reid Street will be closed to traffic from 6 a.m. on Saturday to 6 a.m. on Monday.
The southbound lane of Court Street between Church Street and Reid Street will be closed. The northbound lane of Court Street between Front Street and Reid Street will also be closed to all traffic. The left lane on Reid Street will have to turn left at Court Street and the right lane will have to turn right at Court Street. Traffic leaving the Bank of Bermuda drive-through will have to turn right onto Court Street.
Motorists entering the city from East Broadway are advised to remain on Front Street and use Parliament Street to access Reid Street west and North Hamilton.
The right lane of Reid Street will reopen to through traffic on Monday but the left lane will remain closed until all construction work has been completed. The northbound lane of Court Street between Front Street and Reid Street will remain closed for the next two weeks.
The Corporation apologises for any inconveniences that this may cause and advises motorists to follow temporary traffic signs and use alternative routes.
