Teen breaks both legs in crash
A teenage motorcyclist broke both his legs and his right wrist in a crash with a taxi.
The 18-year-old, from Pembroke, also suffered scratches to his face in the accident at the junction of South Road and Marley Beach Close, Warwick, at 12.30 p.m. on Wednesday. Last night he was stable on a surgical ward.
The motorcyclist and the 73-year-old taxi driver, also from Pembroke, who sustained cuts to his fingers, were both taken to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.
Police say it appears the taxi was attempting a right turn out of Marley Beach Close onto South Road, when it collided with the motorcycle, which was travelling west on South Road.
The motorcycle was extensively damaged, while the taxi received front end damage.
Traffic was diverted away from the scene for about an hour after the accident.
Police are investigating the incident.
