weeks of little progress on the Government's legislative agenda.

Government sources said the House of Assembly will deal with at least six items on the 21-item Order paper, the most controversial of which should be debate for passage of the Bermuda 1992 Plan and the report by a tribunal which ruled on hundreds of objections to zonings imposed by the Plan.

MPs yesterday said the Government would not be going ahead with the Bermuda Plan vote if it did not think it had the votes to pass. At least three UBP MPs last week expressed serious reservations about supporting the Plan because of the Tribunal's pro-development decision on Catchment Hill.

Other legislative items include approval of additional spending from 1993 and amendments to the Bermuda Immigration and Protection Act to allow status grants in particular categories.

Many of the items on the Order Paper such as debate on the Commission of Competitiveness and the Task Force on Employment are to be put off to Parliament's next session in the autumn.
