Mr. Wade moved offices but Mrs. Browne Evans has continued to practise from the Court Street office for the time being at least. She is expected to retire soon.

Port Royal Golf Course has found a "fair way'' to treat their shell-shocked neighbours.

The 18-hole Southampton course is to build a 35-foot tall fence along the 11th fairway to prevent golfers clouting the properties in Rosehill Road.

Later teed-off residents will be protected by trees from stray drives and chip shots which have been landing in their gardens.

Approval for the fence was given by the Development Applications Board at its meeting this week.

Port Royal manager Mr. Max Atherton said: "Golfers have been hitting balls into the properties along Rose Hill Road.

`There were a couple of balls which landed in gardens, there was a broken window or two and dents in cars but nobody has been hit.

"We do not even want to take that risk so we are putting up the fence as a temporary measure until we grow trees along there.''
