The graduation ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. tomorrow in the new senior secondary school's gymnasium.

About 200 graduates will march down the aisle wearing royal blue gowns accented by burgundy collars and royal blue and burgundy tassels.

Guest speaker for the graduation is Dean Alma York of Atlantic Union College in Massachusetts.

And the gospel choir and the school choir will perform the musical selections.

After the ceremony a reception will be held in the courtyard.

In anticipation of the graduation celebration, the senior students held the first ever CedarBridge prom last night at Marriott's Castle Harbour Resort.

The students were treated to a formal sit down dinner which was then followed by dancing.

And the school's principal, Ernest Payette, was on hand to crown Scarlet Thomas and Beverley Trott as the King and Queen of the prom.

Margie Gordyk, who is co-directing the graduation with Betty-Anne Saunders, said the graduation committee, which consisted mainly of students, planned both the prom and the graduation.

"The students chose the menu and the D.J. for the prom and picked the hors d'oeuvres and gowns for the graduation ceremony,'' she explained. "I have enjoyed working with them.'' Ms Gordyk also said it was hoped that next year's graduation will be held in the Ruth Seaton James Auditorium which is expected to be renovated by then.
