The child, who attends an east end school which was not named, had the items in a schoolbag on Wednesday afternoon. The Community & Juvenile Services Department was called in to liaise with the family.

A Police spokesperson said Police wanted to remind parents to exercise greater care about what their children were carrying in their school bags.

"The Community & Juvenile Services Department would also like to remind parents who keep alcohol in their homes to practice securing the spirits away from young hands, and to caution older children about the dangers of alcohol abuse,'' she said.
