The application follows an earlier submission by Southpro Limited to subdivide the property into 28 lots, approved by the Department of Planning last year.

Planning consultant Mr. David Somers of Bermuda Caribbean Engineering Consultants Limited said there was no increase or decrease in the number of lots.

But the original plan to build condominiums on the property off Lukes Pond Road has been scrapped due to market saturation, he said.

"It is most likely it will be developed as detached houses,'' he said. But the company has no immediate plans to build, he added.

The DAB minutes revealed that conditions of the approval were the property must be landscaped to ensure the stability of steep, sandy slopes on the site.

And further planting was recommended to prevent wind sweeping down into the valley.

They also suggested that the final subdivision plan be accompanied by full details of the access road to the property including road width and lighting.
