It reported that more than 200 vehicles brought 17,300 pounds of hazardous waste to the Devon Springs Recycling Centre on November 4 and 5. The collected waste has been packed in 126 55-gallon drums and is to be shipped to the US.

According to the Ministry, the oil-based paints, solvents, gasoline, motor oil and diesel fuel that were collected will be reprocessed and used as fuel in cement kilns.

Car batteries and latex paints will also be reprocessed, while other wastes will be destroyed.
