DRUGS WOMAN SENT TO PRISON FOR NINE YEARS
and powdered cocaine will spend the next nine years of her life in prison.
Last month Erin Lois Renee Osmond of Friswell's Hill, admitted importing 458 grams of 78 percent pure crack cocaine worth $143,150 on November 28 in St.
George's.
She also pleaded guilty to possessing 60.6 grams of 73 percent pure cocaine valued at $17,250.
Yesterday Crown counsel Charlene Scott said Osmond arrived at the Bermuda International Airport on board a flight from the US on November 28 of last year around 7.40 p.m.
Ms Scott said Police noticed Osmond acting nervous and decided to search her.
Two female Customs officer found two packages strapped to the upper middle section of her body.
Ms. Scott said one of the packages contained a white power -- cocaine hydrochloride, the other a yellowish power -- crack cocaine.
Upon being arrested and cautioned by Police, Osmond replied: "I'm sorry.'' Puisne Judge Norma Wade ordered Osmond to spend nine years in prison for importing and possessing the cocaine.
WHITNEY TEACHER TO BE CHARGED CTS Whitney teacher to be charged A Whitney Institute teacher is expected to be charged in Magistrates' Court next week in connection with allegations of misconduct.
The male teacher, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was suspended with full pay last year after a written complaint was filed concerning a female student.
Another girl, who is a former Whitney pupil, also came forward with similar allegations about the same teacher after the first complaint was submitted on December 12.
The man is represented by lawyer Richard Hector.
