Edness praises golfer Talbot

congratulations to one-arm golfing sensation Mr. Quinn Talbot who placed second in a major tournament in South Africa.

Meanwhile Youth Sport and Recreation Minister the Hon. Pamela Gordon asked that congratulations be sent to the Bermudian participants -- Donald Evans, Steve Bean and Billy and Michael Way -- in the Davis Cup.

She said their performance was a sign of better things to come.

Ms Gordon asked that best wishes should also be sent to the Pan American team which is the "largest and most hopeful for medals''.

Shadow Minister of Youth and Sport Dr. Ewart Brown asked that congratulations be sent to Ms Pat Pogson and the Black Box production company for their performance of "Showdown time'' at the City hall theatre. Dr. Brown said it was extremely entertaining.

He said Ms Tona Douglas deserved special mention for her performance and he encouraged other Ministers to attend "to extend their cultural horizons''.

Shadow Community and Cultural Affairs Minister Mr. Leon (Jimmy) Williams asked that condolences be sent to Jose DeLima Ponte's family.

He said Mr. Ponte was a hard working Bermudian who stood up for the Portuguese people in Bermuda in the 1960s.

Mr. Williams asked that congratulations be sent to the Mount Zion AME church for their annual conference. He said their annual report was excellent and it demonstrated the work the Rev. Trevor Woolridge was doing in the community.

Shadow Education Minister Ms Jennifer Smith asked that congratulations be sent to all art teachers in the primary and secondary schools whose student's work has been on show and is of a high calibre.
