Police saw Mervin Dwayne Cross carrying the fork in Scotts Hill Road, Somerset, at 10.30 p.m. on November 5.

Prosecutor Sgt. Peter Giles said on Friday that Police asked him to hand over the fork, Cross replied $50 had been stolen from him.

"He said he was going to kill the culprit,'' said Sgt. Giles.

Cross, of Sound View Road, told Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis he had just woken up when Police confronted him.

He added he had been going home with the fork, and had had no intention of harming anyone.

Mr. Francis fined Cross $250 after he admitted possessing an offensive weapon.
