A temperature guarantee has never been needed to bring Mr. Robert Rehn and his wife Dorothy to Bermuda in winter.

But a greeting card the Department of Tourism sends to winter visitors brought them back this week for free.

The Rehns, from South Natick, Massachusetts, near Boston, were drawn to win the prize after they answered a question about Bermuda and got two local residents to sign their card.

Mrs. Rehn, known to her friends as Renee, did not even remember filling out the card and correctly answering that Bermuda had 40 MPs when she and her husband visited last January.

She has been to Bermuda five times, and her husband three -- always in winter.

"We like the relaxed atmosphere, and it's only two hours from Boston,'' Mr.

Rehn said.

"And we love the Bermuda Festival,'' Mrs. Rehn added.

Drawn as one of three winners in the winter promotion run by the Tourism Department, the Rehns were flown to Bermuda for a free three-night stay at the Princess Hotel.

Mr. Randy Horton, the department's assistant director for activities, said the prize was worth $1,200.

During the visit, the couple was taken to dinner by the Tourism Department's manager of promotional services Ms Deanna Wade, along with the two locals who signed their card -- Mrs. Barbara Fullerton and Ms Kwanda Smith.

Mrs. Fullerton met the couple at the Visitors Service Bureau where she was selling Bill Cosby tickets.

Ms Smith was the receptionist at the Sandpiper Apartments, where the Rehns stayed the last time they were in Bermuda.
