The two reserve constables were driving along Burnaby Street at about 11.50 p.m. when a bottle was thrown, shattering the rear window of the Police car.

Neither officer was hurt in the incident.

Four people were arrested -- two Hamilton Parish men aged 20 and 17, a 19-year-old Hamilton Parish woman and a 17-year-old Warwick woman. They were all bailed.

It was one of three incidents over the weekend in which Police cars were damaged.

At 3.15 a.m. on Sunday a 17-year-old man managed to damage a Police car while he was being chased.

The Pembroke teenager was being chased on suspicion of driving while impaired by alcohol or drugs. He made several attempts to escape the Police but was eventually caught on Commissioner's Hill in Devonshire, said Police spokesman Sgt. Roseanda Jones.

She added: "During the chase he dropped the cycle, which carried on and caused minor damage to the Police vehicle.

"The rider was unable to be tested but was also found to be riding while disqualified by reason of age.'' The other Police car was damaged during a chase on Border Lane North, Pembroke. The accident happened when the Police car sideswiped a signpost as it was approaching a narrow section of road.

Two other people were arrested for impaired driving over the weekend, one failed the test and one was unable to take it. in the second incident, a 27-year-old Warwick man was arrested on Saturday after he drove the wrong way around the roundabout at Frog Lane and was in collision with a motorbike.
