Miss Herkommer's psychopathic killer, Leroy Burgess, is also named in the action.

A writ on behalf of Miss Herkommer's estate was entered in the Supreme Court register on Wednesday.

Last year Burgess received a life sentence after admitting manslaughter with diminished responsibility.

The Supreme Court heard Casemates prisoner Burgess dragged Miss Herkommer, a 27-year-old schoolteacher, into the tunnel of the Maritime Museum at Dockyard and choked her to death.

Lawyer Mr. Alan Dunch, who is representing Government, said yesterday he was unaware the writ had been entered.

A law firm has filed a petition in bankruptcy against convicted embezzler Mr.

Harold Stavisky.

Mello, Hollis, Jones & Martin has taken out the action because of alleged unpaid legal fees.

The writ was entered in the Supreme Court register on Monday.

Legal sources told The Royal Gazette Mr. Stavisky had allegedly owed the law firm about $13,000 for three or four years.

They said the alleged debt related to Bermuda's Hamiltonian timeshare and condominium complex, and services carried out by the firm on Mr. Stavisky's behalf.

Last year Boston businessman Mr. Stavisky was convicted of embezzling $150,000 from investors in the Hamiltonian.

Mr. Stavisky, who had denied three larceny charges, received a two-year jail term, suspended for three years. He was also fined $60,000 by the Massachusetts court.
