Topics raised included 1995 airline service to the Island and efforts to involve more Bermudians in the hotel industry.

Other subjects included: Progress made by Government on implementing proposals contained in the report of the Committee on Competitiveness; A jointly-funded Tourism Awareness Campaign, and; The high cost in Bermuda of telephone and electricity services.

The Premier, the Hon. Sir John Swan, concluded the meeting at the Princess Hotel by paying tribute to the role of the late Mr. Walter Sommer in the development of the hotel business in Bermuda.

Mr. Sommer died suddenly last week of a heart attack. He was a major shareholder of the Fourways Inn restaurant.
