J. Swan Ltd. seeks approval for six-storey office building
Development company John Swan Ltd. is seeking Development Applications Board approval to build an office building in a parking lot in Hamilton.
The six-storey building at the corner of Victoria and Parliament Streets would add more than 53,000 square feet of office space to the city's infrastructure.
It will be sited on two lots totalling 10,000 square feet in area and architects Barker and Linberg will oversee the project.
In other applications: Warehouse Associates has applied to build a 7,000 square foot, two-storey warehouse at Lot 7 on Harvey Road, Paget.
The area is zoned light industrial. There will be parking for three cycles and three cars.
The plans include room for a wine storage area and a flooring products company in the lower floor, and rental space on the upper floor.
The Bank of N.T. Butterfield wants to make security improvements to aid deliveries to two Hamilton branches.
The bank has applied to expand an entrance way and make internal modifications to accommodate vans for deliveries to the Burnaby Street side door to the main office.
It is intended that a portable ramp will be used to drive directly into the building.
And application has been made to cover a side loading area of the Rosebank Centre on Bermudiana Road for more security.
The Bermuda Housing Trust has applied to build five additional studio units at "The Laurels'', Purvis Park, Belvedere Road, Paget.
The Trust already has 21 existing units at the four-acre property.
Each studio apartment will have a kitchen, and bath with a walk-in shower.
Retroactive permission is being sought by the Bermuda College for a storage shed on the eastern portion of its Stonington Beach.
Work was stopped at the deck-laying stage by the College's architects, Marshall Bernardo Partnership.
