Floyd Calvin Spence, 27, of Whale Bay Road, earlier admitted to smashing the windshield of his sister's white Subaru car with a bucket on New Year's Day.

He also spat blood on one officer and pushed another in the chest when they attempted to arrest him later the same day.

On Friday, Spence told Acting Magistrate Wilhelm Bourne that he was trying to get his life back together again.

He added that his father, a truck driver, had given him a job and he felt that he would now be able to stay out of trouble.

"My father has given me a second chance at life, and I'm trying to stay out of trouble,'' he said. "I am learning what responsibility is through my father.''
