Man stole $55 watch
thinking it would complement his other jewellery.
Clifton Caines 31, of Sandymount Drive pleaded guilty in Magistrates' Court to stealing the watch from Warwick Shell Gas Station.
Prosector Sgt. Cyril Plant said that on January 25, Caines entered the station and stole a $55 watch displayed by the cash register.
Caines was arrested and taken to the Hamilton Police Station where he admitted stealing the watch.
Sgt. Plant added that when asked by Police why he stole the watch Caines said: "I thought it would look good with my ring so I put it in my pocket and walked out.'' He told Magistrate the Wor. Cheryl-Ann Mapp: "My fiancee and I had a misunderstanding and I walked out of the house, went to the gas station and took the watch.'' Mrs. Mapp bailed Caines in the sum of $300 with a like surety until sentencing on April 4.
