More race relations forums planned
initatives.
And the two open meetings at Bermuda College at the end of last month could even be shown on TV to win support for more conferences.
Kenneth Spurling, chairman of the Commission for Unity and Racial Equality, said new forums were already being planned for the coming months.
He added: "The meetings serve as an opportunity for us to get opinions from the community and get a good feel for what people are thinking.
"Both the recent forums were video-recorded and we will be reviewing those tapes to take on board the best ideas.
"Another intention is to edit the video for TV purposes and we will be speaking to ZBM and VSB in due course.'' He said there would be two or three more meetings within the next two months.
Mr. Spurling added: "Now we have to decide which panellists to invite but we've very keen in keeping up with these events.'' Around 250 people attended the last meeting, on Tuesday night, including senior Government figures.
The two-hour meeting finished with a lengthy question-and-answer session.
And all the speakers -- Robert Clifford, Timothy Marshall, Victoria Pearman and Dr. Donald Peters -- spoke of the need to re-model education to stamp out racism.
