Much interest has been recorded in the hotel, which closed its doors last November, and part-owner Bridget Marshall said they were hoping that the sale might be concluded by the end of the year.

In the meantime, rooms are being rented out to companies to house their employees.

Ms Marshall said they intended to sell the 60-room hotel as it was, and would continue to rent rooms out until any sale was finalised. "There is a terrible shortage of rooms,'' she said.

There had been plenty of interest in the complex, which she added was in one of the best locations on the Island.

The hotel closed last November, after eight years in business.

At the time Ms Marshall said the primary reason for the closure was the Department of Tourism's insistence that the hotel installed a $1 million sprinkler system.
