Mr. Terceira would not give details of the announcement.

But he said a notice of a Development Applications Board application that appeared in The Royal Gazette yesterday related to the relocation of an existing preschool, not development of a new one.

Government wanted to move the Springfield Preschool on Somerset Road to 66 Scott's Hill Road in Somerset, Dr. Terceira said.

The new site, known as the Somerset Brigade Band Room, had more space and was on a better site, he said. The Springfield site "was inadequate.'' The Scott's Hill Road site is intended to accommodate 20 to 30 children.
