Spokesman for the Council's dozen members Mr. Guilden Gilbert stated yesterday that none of them shared Mr. Smith's views on random testing.

But they did support mandatory drug and alcohol testing of accident victims.

The measure was called for by Health Minister the Hon. Quinton Edness last month following a spate of road deaths and findings that alcohol was involved in the majority of fatal road accidents over the last five years.

Mr. Gilbert wanted to set the record straight because he was concerned the public may have gotten the wrong impression from Mr. Smith's recent statements.

His views on supporting random drug and alcohol testing were his own, Mr.

Gilbert said.
