Condolences were sent to the family of the great grandfather by Sen. Terry Lister, Sen. Lawrence Scott and Sen. Michael Winfield during Friday's session in Senate.

Mr. Bascome leaves his wife Elsie, two sons and a daughter, seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

The West Side farmer and oldest living Berkeleyite as described by Sen. Lister as: "In full control of his faculties right up to the end.'' Sen. Winfield described him as a wonderful individual who will be missed not only by his family, but the whole Sandys family.
