showing of "Sarafina'' tonight at the Liberty Theatre.

The movie, under the patronage of the school's Board of Governors chairman Mr.

Eugene Cox MP and Mrs. Cox, will begin at 8 p.m.

"Sarafina'' tells the story of a group of South African students who valiantly try to pursue such activities as getting an education and putting on a show under the restrictions of Emergency Rule.

Told primarily through the eyes of Sarafina, whose mother works as a domestic in an affluent white suburb, the narrative serves as a compressed history of South Africa from 1975 to 1985.

Academy Award-winning actress Whoopi Goldberg stars as an inspiring teacher who gives an amusingly apt history lesson at the same time the school is being firebombed.

"The Ex-Scholars Association has chosen to present this particular film premiere as Sandys Secondary can relate well to the educational message conveyed and because of its own struggles of getting established 65 years ago,'' the association said.

Tickets for the film are $20 each.
