For the Police Eastern Division Consultative Committee and the Bermuda Electric Light Company recently joined forces to provide safety torches for 16 pupils.

St. David's principal Eddie Wright did a survey to find out how many students needed lights on their pedal bikes.

The Consultative Committee chairman, Cal White, then asked Belco to donate lights for the students' safety.

On Friday, REACH officer P.c. Martin Weeks and St. George's parish constable P.c. Steve Nurse helped the kids attach the torches onto the handlebars of their bikes.

The officers also reminded the students to always practise road safety and to be extra careful while riding at night.
