Labour Minister the Hon. Irving Pearman said he would be examining the details of the case.

He would then decide whether to put Boston-based Stavisky on the "stop list''.

"I will be availing myself of all the information.'' Stavisky was this week convicted of embezzling $150,000 from three investors in Bermuda's Hamiltonian timeshare and condominium complex.

A co-owner of it, he faces a maximum 15 years in jail, or $75,000 in fines.

Sentence will be passed on December 13.

Stavisky was found guilty of three counts of larceny in a United States court.

He had denied them.

The court heard the 54-year-old attorney and real estate developer was given $50,000 each by three investors in 1989. He had told the investors he was developing 88 condominiums, it was alleged.

But Stavisky converted the money to his personal use, the court heard.

Mr. Pearman said he had a sketchy knowledge of the case, but would be looking into it. "I am in no position to comment until I know what all the circumstances are.'' Mr. Pearman said any decision on Stavisky could be made before December 13.
