held after June 16, a spokesman disclosed yesterday.

And time is running out for the potential voters to register before the deadline at the end of May.

On Monday, the Draft Parliamentary Register was published with more than 31,000 voters listed.

But last year's total reached 36,087 and the Department of Information Services estimates some 38,000 people are eligible.

Each year the draft register is published on April 1 to allow voters to verify names and constituency information.

Copies of the draft register are on display at all Post Offices, the Bermuda Library, and the office of the Parliamentary Registrar in the Government Administration Building.

Acting Parliamentary Registrar, Lionel Dowling, especially urged first-time voters, parents of students studying abroad and households with members in overseas medical treatment to register.

The final register, complete with late registrations, will be published on June 16.

Premier Pamela Gordon must call an election by October when the United Bermuda Party Government's term of office ends.

Most political observers predict the election will be called in the Autumn, although Ms Gordon could still take the Country to the polls in the Spring -- when the current Parliamentary Register will be in effect.
