Titterton heads up Gov't's environmental authority

Other members include Mr. Warren Brown; Dr. Gloria Frederick; Mrs. Sheila Nicoll; Mr. Peter Nelson; Mr. Mark Rowe; and Chief Medical Officer Dr. John Cann.

The new authority will control emissions from factories and plants.

These include the Bermuda Electric Light Company, the Tynes Bay Incinerator, asphalt plants and boilers and hotel generators.

Government has promised standards which will make Bermuda one of the world's most pollution-free countries.

The make-up of the Taxi Advisory Committee has also been announced, with Col.

C. Eugene Raynor appointed chairman.

Deputy chairman is Mr. Custerfield Crockwell.

Other members include Mr. David Abraham; Mr. Jimmy Bailey, Mrs. Sandra Butterfield; Mr. Earlston Brown, Mr. Oliver Caisey; Mr. Samuel DeSilva; Mr.

Michael Fields; Mr. Rupert Holdipp; Mr. Wayne Mouchette, and Mr. Leon Wilson.

The changes have been rung at many other Government boards and organisations as well.

Mr. Colin Adderley has stepped into Mr. W.N. Conyers' shoes as chairman of the Development Applications Board.

And Mrs. Kim Young has been replaced as chairperson of the Women's Advisory Council by Mrs. Jo Carol Robinson.

Mrs. Robinson was the chairperson of the Public Service Vehicles Licensing Board.

She has been succeeded by Mr. Paul King.

There is also a new chairman of the West End Development Corporation Board.

Top accountant Mr. Scott Hunter takes over from Mr. Christopher Astwood.

In addition, Mr. Craig Christensen replaces Mr. Roger Titterton as chairman of the Small Business Development Corporation's Board of Directors.

New chairmen of other bodies include: Mr. Alexander Swan (Trucks Advisory Committee); Mr. Raoul Tyrrell (Trustees of the Ocean View Golf Course); Mr.

Horst Augustinovic (Stamp Design Advisory Committee); Mr. Ramadhin Smith (Road Safety Council); Mr. Charles Morton (Purchasing and Tendering Committee); Mr.

M. Timothy Smith (Public Works Board); and Mr. Dennis Samuels (Port Royal Golf Course Trustees).

Other new chairmen are: Mr. M. Timothy Smith (National Youth Council); Mr.

Trevor Moniz (Board of Education); Mrs. Alice Rans (Board of Agriculture); Mr.

R.A. Ferguson (Bermuda Housing Trust); Dr. James King (Bermuda College's Board of Governors); and Mr. Robin Gilbert (Appeals Committee).
