finish to the final debate of the Parliamentary session last Saturday.

After the marathon economic debate Government MP the Hon. Sidney Stallard called a quorum during the adjournment. Only 13 members were in the House and Parliament was adjourned.

The Government benches had emptied leaving just Progressive Labour Party members, one short of the quorum.

But Opposition leader Mr. Freddie Wade said yesterday the whole business was disrespectful. "It was tragic that we were not allowed to give our best wishes to the Speaker who is intending to retire after the election,'' said Mr. Wade.

"This could have been the last session before the election and a number of Government MPs, Sydney Stallard, Haskins Davis and Anthony Correia have announced that they are retiring.

"The Government simply left the chamber and stood in the corridor outside even when the bell had rung. I find that disrespectful.'' Mr. Wade said that he felt that the session of Parliament had served a useful purpose with the two main subjects being the recession and the coming election.

He complained that the PLP was not given enough time to prepare for some debates but admitted that they had shown the public the different policies of Government and Opposition on very important issues.
