Darrell, of South Road, Smith's Parish, admitted stealing $70. Stoneham, of Horseshoe Road, Southampton, admitted taking $150.

Sgt. Rex Osborne, prosecuting, said the manager hired a security firm after noticing a drop in profits.

Magistrate the Wor. John Judge ordered social inquiry reports.

THIEF STRIKES AS RESIDENT SLEEPS CRM A sneak thief crept into a home in St. George's and stole the television from in front of its owner.

The occupier of the house, on Water Street, had fallen asleep while watching the TV at 1 a.m. When he awoke at 7 a.m., he found it had been stolen.

Police said that at first the victim thought the theft was a prank by a friend.

In another incident a prowler was disturbed on Fiddlewood Drive in Warwick.

The culprit, described as about 19-years-old, dark-skinned and wearing a white track suit, ran off when challenged.

CYCLIST JAILED CTS Riding a motorcycle while disqualified cost Kenneth E. Wilson six months in prison yesterday.

Wilson, 37, of Court Street, admitted the May 15 offence on Dutton Avenue. He said he used the bike to pick up some papers, and was "unfortunately caught''.

Magistrates' Court heard he had a record of similar offences.

ONE TOO MANY CTS A 36-year-old man was yesterday fined $400 and taken off the road for a year after admitting driving his truck on Kindley Field Road while impaired by drink.

Gladstone H. Simmons, of Wellington Slip Road, St. George's, who told Magistrates' Court his driving licence was essential for him to make a living, was found on May 4 to have an alcohol level of 184 milligrams in 100 millilitres of blood.

REFUSED TEST CTS John J. Madeiros, of Serpentine Road, Pembroke, admitted driving while impaired on Elliott Street on March 27 and was fined $400 with a year's driving ban. Madeiros, 39, refused to take an alcohol test, Magistrates' Court heard.

DRUG WARNING CTS A Sandys man who admitted having heroin was told by a magistrate yesterday that he was putting himself in danger.

Magistrate the Wor. John Judge ordered a social inquiry report on William Kevin Smith, who was caught with 0.22 grams of heroin on Elliott Street, Hamilton on February 25.

Smith, 38, of Sound View Road, admitted the offence.
