Government is looking for two choral music co-directors to lead a new Bermuda Island Youth Choir.

The choir, which will feature singers between the ages of 12 and 19, is the brainchild of Government and Community Services Minister, Yvette Swan.

The formation of the choir is intended to raise the quality of local vocal performance to meet international standards.

A variety of music, including folk, classical and gospel, will be included in the choir's repertoire.

Persons interested in applying for the job of co-director should have a minimum of three years experience with youth choir groups; a record of strong conducting and rehearsal skills; a knowledge of choral repertoire; the ability to guide and instruct in choral techniques; a strong commitment to the recruitment of singers and programme development in choral music; and a commitment to music as an academic discipline and performing art.
