A 17-year-old Paget youth who fled from Police on a motorcycle and then dumped his pillion passenger when attempting a ``wheelie'' has been fined $600 in
Genghis K. Ebbin of Ord Road admitted driving while disqualified by age, driving in a dangerous manner, and failing to stop for Police.
Prosecutor Sgt. Rex Osborne told the court that on April 10 at 3.
15 a.m.
Police saw Ebbin speeding on a motorcycle on Palmetto Road.
"Police attempted to get Ebbin, who had a passenger on the back, to pull over but he just looked back at the officers and accelerated,'' Sgt. Osborne said.
"When he was on the roundabout on North Shore Road he overtook a car causing it to hit the curb.'' Sgt. Osborne added that Ebbin then did a "wheelie'' -- drove on one wheel -- causing his passenger to fall off. "Ebbin drove on the sidewalk, dropped his bike and ran from Police but was caught.'' Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis fined Ebbin $200 for driving while disqualified and $400 for driving in a dangerous manner. He was also banned from driving for 12 months.
