A man on remand, waiting for his case to be mentioned in Magistrates' Court, shouted at the Senior Magistrate this week in an outburst which resulted in him being sent back to prison until the case comes to trial.

Toronto Darrell, 29, charged with breaking and entering, stood in the dock and bellowed at the Wor. Will Francis: "I am sick and tired of coming back and forth. I don't want to keep coming here. You've granted bail to attempted murderers, and you have me remanded in custody for something that I haven't done.

"I'm tired of coming here every two weeks.'' Mr. Francis explained that the law required an accused person's case to be mentioned in court at certain intervals.

"The law requires you to be here and it's for your own benefit.'' Darrell replied that he didn't want to come back until his trial was in progress.

Mr. Francis told him: "You don't want to see me, and I don't want to see you.

You don't have to be here.'' Darrell was remanded in custody until his trial.
