Previous testimony revealed the girl had contracted three sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) as a result of molestation.

The 39-year-old Sandys man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has pleaded not guilty to the sexual exploitation and touching a young person.

Yesterday in Magistrates' Court, Crown Counsel Lesley Basden asked the man if he knew that herpes and gonorrhoea could be spread by rubbing his genitals against the girl's genitals.

The man responded: "No, I do not know that. I'm not into young girls, I'm into older women.'' Last week, the man denied ever having the STDs despite test results which indicated he had contracted both. And he suggested that if he had the diseases, he would have been treated before leaving the hospital after his tests.

But yesterday, Ms Basden noted the results of the tests would not have been available the same day samples were taken.

And she added: "So, it's true that if they didn't know the results of the tests, they wouldn't have given you treatment.'' He responded: "I don't know, but if you're being accused of something that serious, wouldn't they take all the cautions?'' The man repeated his denial, stating the results of the tests were false.
