Warwick man $700 when he appeared in Magistrates' Court yesterday.

David Bruce Riley, of Swansvale Road, admitted the offences which occurred on February 26.

Insp. Peter Duffy, prosecuting, told the court that Police on patrol on Middle Road, Southampton, saw Riley riding a motorcycle travelling east. They stopped him and he gave his name as Paul Smith, born on June 7, 1970.

Insp. Duffy said a check of Police records revealed that Smith was wanted on outstanding warrants and they took Riley in for questioning.

At the Police station, he was identified by another Police officer and he admitted that he had given Police a false name.

Insp. Duffy also said that Riley had been disqualified from all vehicles for 18 months after he was convicted last October for riding an auxiliary cycle while disqualified. He was taken off the road until April, 1995.

Though not increasing his disqualification, Senior Magistrate the Wor. Will Francis told Riley to amend his ways and heed the orders of the court.

"I know the laws have been changed,'' Mr. Francis said. "But you could be sent to prison if you keep this sort of behaviour up.'' He then fined Riley $400 for driving while disqualified and $300 for making false statements to Police.
