Belco employees praised
the Senate on Monday.
Sen. Alf Oughton (Ind), the retired Belco chief, congratulated the 32 employees recently honoured for more than ten years of service at the electric company.
He singled out Mr. Clarence Hill, Mr. Charles DeSilva, and Mr. Edward Tuzo, each with 45 years of service.
Sen. Oughton also congratulated Belco on its new drug testing policy.
Sen. Neletha Butterfield (PLP) congratulated Ms Janet Davis, a young Bermudian who was recently called to the Bar in England after a struggle paying for her education.
Sen. Butterfield also congratulated Mrs. Ceola Wilson Bell, who is resigning as news anchor at ZBM TV at the end of the month.
And she praised Miss Stephanie Bain of Berkeley Institute, who recently won the school's Vision award for her speech, "If I were Premier''.
Finally, Sen. Butterfield congratulated Ms Patti-Jean Millett, who on the weekend opened her home to neighbourhood children with a Teddy Bear's Picnic with Santa.
