develop tourism in Bermuda between the World Wars, are to be released by the Post Office. Two ships of the Furness Bermuda Line adorn the four-stamp, January 20 issue, the first of 1994.

The art for the stamps is by Adolph Treidler, whose posters were used for tourism promotion during the 1930s when Furness Bermuda was at its operating peak.

Two of the stamps show Furness Bermuda's best-known ships, the Queen of Bermuda and the Ocean Monarch .

One of them shows the Queen of Bermuda entering Hamilton Harbour. It says: "Two days from New York! The pleasure planned liner Queen of Bermuda enters her home port.'' The posters reveal how closely wedded Bermuda and the company's objectives were.

Mr. Treidler's art is one of the most distinctive associated with the period between the wars. In the course of his 65-year career as a commercial his work adorned more than 200 magazine covers including Colliers, Harper's Weekly, Better Hones and Gardens and the Literary Digest.
