Bermudiana Road, Richmond Road, Rosemont Avenue and Pitts Bay Road were also danger areas.

Handbag snatching, however, was prevalent throughout the whole Island, Police warned.

On Monday night four people became the latest targets of bag snatchers.

At about 8 p.m., a 32-year-old Pembroke woman had her duffle bag grabbed from her cycle basket in Pitts Bay Road.

And about an hour later two female tourists in South Road, Smith's, had their bags taken from their cycle basket by a young man on a bike.

A couple walking along Woodbourne Avenue at 11 p.m. were luckier.

They were approached by a young man on a cycle who grabbed the woman's handbag.

But the would-be thief dropped the bag and fled on foot when the couple stopped his bike from moving.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Roseanda Jones said : "We would once again remind cyclists to ensure bags are securely fastened in the basket or worn over the shoulder with a long strap.''
