Almost 90 percent of those who sat the exams obtained grade C in five or more subjects. The percentage of A and B grades increased by five percent since last year.

Development director at BHS, Mrs. Judy Masters said the grades compare favourably with those of GCSE candidates throughout the world.

"It is a clear indication of the school's focus on providing a solid foundation for future schooling and productive careers,'' she said. "BHS is extremely proud of the students for this outstanding achievement. They should be proud of themselves.''
