sittings until June of 1995 to await a new list of Bermuda voters.

The commission, which was appointed October 14, met in a committee room at the House of Assembly on Mondy, Government said in a news release.

"The commission was of the view that the current Parliamentary Register, prepared under the provisions of the Parliamentary Election Act 1978, was not sufficiently adequate for the commission's purposes,'' the statement said.

"The commission was advised that the register was due to be revised from 15 January, 1995, and was assured that such a revision would result in a more adequate register.'' Sir Frank Blackman, the former Cabinet Secretary and head of the Barbados Civil Service, is chairing the commission. Sir Clifford Hammett, a former Chief Justice of Fiji, is the judicial member.

The Hon. David Saul and the Hon. Maxwell Burgess are the Government appointees, while Mr. Walter Roberts and Mrs. Lois Browne Evans represent the Opposition.

Mr. Gladstone Bassett, who assisted the 1986 Boundaries Commission, has been retained as secretary.

Under the Constitution, a Boundaries Commission is supposed to be appointed at least every seven years.
